The Science Academy endorses statement by WHO Director General
The Science Academy – Bilim Akademisi – Turkey endorses the statement made by Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director General of the World Health Organization, in his opening remarks at the 148th Session of the WHO Executive Board.
The statement from Dr. Tedros makes clear the moral as well as scientific, indeed common sense, arguments for a proper international vaccination effort. To quote:

Pınar Mengüç Awarded Purdue University’s “Outstanding Mechanical Engineer Award”
The Science Academy, Bilim Akademisi member and Özyeğin University faculty member Prof. Dr. M. Pınar Mengüç was awarded the Purdue University “Outstanding Mechanical Engineer Award”. The award will be given to Prof. Dr. Mengüç at a special ceremony to be held at Purdue University in the Spring Term of 2020 – 2021. Please click for further information.

Celal Şengör Awarded the Eduard Suess Medal
Bilim Akademisi member Prof. Celal Şengör was awarded the 2020 Eduard Suess Medal by the The Austrian Geological Society (Österreichische Geologische Gesellschaft).
