The Science Academy, Turkey member Prof. Dr. M. Pınar Mengüç, the Head of Mechanical Engineering Department and the Director of the Center for Energy, Environment, and Economy (CEEE), has been honored with the 2018 American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Heat Transfer Memorial Award. This prestigious award is given to him in recognition of his original and lasting research contributions in radiative heat transfer, as well as in the development of diagnostic tools for particle characterization, nanoscale manufacturing techniques, and nanoscale energy transport. Since 1974, the award has been received by faculty members from the world’s leading universities, including Stanford, MIT, Purdue, California-Berkeley, and Georgia Tech. For the first time, the award has been presented to a faculty member who is based in Turkey.

The formal presentation of the award will take place during the 2018 ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress & Exposition, November 9-15, 2018 in Pittsburgh, USA
